Antelope Ax

Axminster Carpet originated in the town of Axminster, England in the 1700s. Axminster provides tremendous flexibility by offering up to 16 colors in a carpet. One end of yarn is tied to a spool for each tuft in the design. This allows for very intricate design work. As the loom is operated, one bracket at a time is lowered and the yarn strands are inserted into the carpet face. They are caught between the warp threads and bound tightly by the weft. The yarn ends are turned up and trimmed by a giant shear creating the carpet pile. Density and content of yarn, usually 80%wool/20% nylon, make this the perfect carpet for Hospiatality installations.
